  2. I think that the tone in this story is sad. First of all, I think it's sad because Jim's dad disappeared witch makes Jim not want to talk to anyone. When Billy died that made Jim think that it was his fault he died, he thought that because he could have helped Billy if he wasn't in the tree.

  5. The tone of the short story "The Bermuda Triangle" is sad because Jim's dad is missing. Quote: "The sentence would be:Where are you dad?" One other sign that the tone is sad is when Billy Bones died and sent the tin of stamps. Quote:"Billy Bones died." and "I guess it's a gift," he said.

  6. I think the tone of the short story "The Bermuda Triangle" is a gloomy tone because of the way the author uses syntax and word choice in the story. My two quotes of evidence are when it says “The second time was on a dark late afternoon in October with the sun, too early, making its excuses on the horizon,” and “The September sky swayed in a slow circle above him, the tree in a slow circle under him,” which are found on page 152 paragraph 2 and page 147 paragraph 1.

  7. JGB- The Bermuda Triangle Tone
In this short story of "The Bermuda Triangle", one tone in the book is sad for Jim, because he is looking for his dad, since he went missing. My quote from the JGB book is on page 152,"Where are you dad?"

  8. The tone for the short story "The Bermuda Triangle" is sad because after Jim's dad went missing Jim started to care for Billy. Jim hard tried to take care of him but then Billy died. Jim thought it was his fault and in a kitchen pad he wrote it was all my fault to his mom because he tried to do all he could do to help. The evidence for this text is "It was all my fault."

  9. I think the tone in the book "The Bermuda Triangle" is sad, mysterious, and intense because at the end he talks and says "I guess it's a gift," he said. The part that makes this intense is Jim gathered his strength together. he opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again. Once again he thought of words, gave shape to them with the muscles of his face, his tongue. He took a deep breath. He leaned out toward the words, reaching, grabbing, squeezing them out of himself into the muffing smelling air of his mother's kitchen. "I guess it's a gift," he said.

  11. I think the tone in this short story "The Bermuda Triangle" is mysterious and sad because Jim leaps to tree to tree trying to say "Where are you dad." He sometimes gets mad like when he screams how could father just disappear. He also wonders where he went and how he disappeared but it's all a mystery.

  14. I think the tone of the short story, "The Bermuda Triangle", is very sad because Jim's dad had mysteriously went missing. Soon Jim became closer to Billy Bones. Jim tried to take care of Billy but then Billy died and on the kitchen pad at his house he wrote "It was all my fault"I infer that he said that because Jim tried to do all he could to help Billy. My evidence is "It's all my fault."

  15. I describe the tone as sad and mysterious in the short story, "The Bermuda Triangle," because Billy Bones says that "Dads do mysterious things." Also, Jim's dad disappears and Jim can't speak anymore when he did. At the end, Jim's dad didn't come back and nobody knows where he is now.

When Jim was about dreaming his dad playing with him, he was thinking....where was he? PG#:152 paragraph#3 "Where are you dad?" When he was going to do the most brave thing, he saw the ambulance coming toward Billy Bone's House and he knew there was a problem. 17. I think the tone in the "Bermuda Triangle" is sad and mysterious because Jim is sad that his dad left, or if he would have died, and he can't speak because he is sad. It's mysterious because they never find out how his dad left, or if he died.

  21. In the "The Bermuda Triangle" I think the tone is sad and exiting. The first reason I think it's sad is because with out Jim's dad Jim won't talk. Another reason I think it's sad is because Jim puts his life in danger just for him to say "Where are you dad". Finally the exiting part in story is when he talk and says "I guess it's a gift," says Jim.

  22. The tone of the short story "The Bermuda Triangle" is mysteries because when he is on the tree, he is swinging so he could say something to his dad but since his dad was gone he couldn't talk and his dad left with out a trace. Also, Billy Bone's dad left when he woke up they left the beach and they didn't go find the treasure in Fairyland were he hid it. Billy never saw his dad too.

  24. In "The Bermuda Triangle," I think the tone is sad because Jim is sad about his dad who had gone missing and now he can't find the words to say, "Where are you, Dad?"

    Quotes:
"It was only when he was airborne that he could speak. Not words, maybe, but sound. And that was something. If he could find two perfect trees far enough apart, maybe he could get out a whole sentence. The sentence would be "Where are you, Dad?"

  25. I think the tone in"The Bermuda Triangle" is kind of sad and mysterious. One of my clues is that Jim can't talk but he tries too. Jim can only make sounds and doesn't talk. "He had stopped speaking when his father went missing." The mysterious part is why he, his mom,and other people never found his body. "When they found the empty car at the end of a trail deep in the woods."
