Non-fiction Reading Strategies

What strategies are you using to help you be sucessful in your non-fiction reading?

  1. Whenever I read my non fiction book, the strategies I use is when I use my vocabulary word, and by sound out those word. Furthermore, I also do some fluency reading so I could improve on my in my reading

  2. After I read a page in my nonfiction fiction book, I paraphrase which helps me understand the book. Furthermore, I see a video about my topic that also helps me understand.

  4. Whenever I read my non-fiction book, the strategies I use are decoding words I don't know and watching a video to help me understand the book. Furthermore, I read a page of my non-fiction book and paraphrase what I read after watching my video.

  5. Whenever I read my non-fiction book, I preview the book, then I look for challenge words and I go to dictionary.com and look up the definitions.
    Additionally, I stop and paraphrase when I am done with the paragraph, and watch a video to get more facts on my non-fiction book.

  6. Because I am reading a non-fiction book, the strategies are, I look at videos to understand more, and I also paraphrase the paragraphs to understand more. Additionally, after I read my non-fiction book, I look for words that I don't know, and I look it up to understand the words and the book.

  8. When I read my non-fiction book,I paraphrase the pages I am reading, and I look up the definitions of the difficult words. After that, I type it all in Open Office and read it over many times.

  9. Some strategies I use when I'm reading my nonfiction book is decoding the words I don't know and watch a video on Discovery Education. Additionally, I paraphrase after I read a paragraph.

  11. When I read my non-fiction book, I look for words I don't understand and look it up on dictionary.com so I know what it means and understand the book. After that, I watch a video on discovery ed so I can get more information on my Open Office document.

  13. Whenever I read my nonfiction book about kangaroos some strategies I use are,are watching videos to get more information and paraphrasing the text I read while I read it. Additionally, I put my paraphrased sentences in a paragraph in a open office document.

  15. Whenever I read my non-fiction book, one of the strategies I use is that I read the vocabulary words and I study them for about 5 minutes so that I could know what those words mean. Furthermore, I stop reading and then I paraphrase so that I could understand what the story is about.
